Community Projects Hone Our Collaborative & Listening Skills

What makes a technology investment valuable: the system you launch, or the confidence people feel using it?

At Datamatix, our turnkey approach brings design, development, integration, and operational readiness together. That last step matters: people need to be comfortable putting the solution to work.

A community project close to my heart reinforced this lesson.

For 39 years, since my student days at the University of Houston, I have been associated with AeS and its parent organization, DeH. As a volunteer PMO Director leading a separate team of five project managers, I had the honor of designing and developing their Community Departments workflow automation and project entry solution.

The challenge was practical: help people without technical backgrounds enter projects, manage their information, and collaborate with confidence.

I combined Microsoft development tools, multiple project management platforms, and workflow automation into an end-to-end solution.

Simple forms captured project information. Automation routed that information into project management tools according to user preferences. Participants could then access and update their own data.

The most gratifying outcome was seeing people become more open to using the tools because they recognized their information. The implementation received excellent feedback in real-world use.

For me, helping community members and their families is deeply fulfilling. It also strengthens the patience, listening, and collaborative leadership I bring to professional projects.

For executives and entrepreneurs serious about technology investments, the lesson is clear: engineering and adoption belong in the same delivery plan.

Under my leadership, Datamatix brings these same qualities to commercial work through our team and implementation partners: technical capability, disciplined project management, clear communication, and care for the people using the solution. We build toward ready-for-market turnkey projects with commercial goals, operational value, and revenue potential in view.
